A Way Forward

Emotional and social intelligence development among Gen-Z youth is at an all-time low. Fueled by the 2020 pandemic shutdowns, the increase of virtual interactions, and the sudden explosion of AI, many young people struggle to find purpose or a way forward. Parents often wonder if their child is adequately equipped for the responsibilities of work and life, or what the future may hold.

In a 2021 nationwide survey of 2,000 adults, only 2 out of 10 high school students felt that high school “very much” prepared them with the skills necessary to join the workforce right out of high school.*

According to the same survey, 78% of employers identified soft skills (i.e. problem-solving, communication, people skills, perseverance, emotional intelligence) as “very important for success” in contrast to subject-matter expertise at 60%.

To address these challenges, True North Shepherding developed the Leadership Advancement Mentorship Program (LAMP). This customized in-person or video-based program prepares the rising generation to navigate the next stages of life. We work with your schedule to equip future leaders with skills that are inadequately taught or missing in high school and college.  

This program differs from tutoring or coaching. The outcome is not to achieve an external goal such as university acceptance or a work promotion. Rather, we’re here to help Gen-Z youth grow in leadership capabilities consistent with their values and personalities.

FAQ’S

  • The first 30-minute assessment is on us! All subsequent sessions are $75 for 45 minutes and $90 for an hour.

  • After the first complementary assessment, Dr. Fong will build a custom roadmap based on your needs and learning path. Anticipate a minimum of four sessions, but frequency and length will be tailored to meet your needs.

  • This curriculum is specifically designed for young adults ages 15 to 25 years.

  • After the initial assessment, Dr. Fong will provide a customized curriculum, complete with exercises based on your learning style and needs. Subsequent sessions will review exercises and further customize your plan as you progress.

  • Yes. Expect a minimum commitment of 1 to 2 hours per week. The weekly exercises cement the material covered in each session and are essential to helping you reach your goals.

  • Life happens! If you need to cancel, please provide a 24-hour notice. Cancellations made within the 24-hour window cannot be refunded. 

  • We encourage you to have a conversation with your child (or children) about their perspectives about themselves and their futures prior to program enrollment. How do they view themselves? Where do they see themselves in 5 or ten years? What are their goals and dreams? After that conversation, sign up for a complimentary assessment to discuss how LAMP can help prepare your child for the future they deserve.
